What does it cost?

Use of MIMIC is completely free to patients and physicians.

Will MIMIC allow me to upload my old studies?

Yes. You can upload your own studies from CD through the patient portal.

What if I don’t have a CD ROM drive?

MIMIC provides you with the convenience of cataloguing studies for you. You just need to request “load CD via mail” within the utilities section once you’ve registered and logged into MIMIC.

How secure are my studies that are uploaded to the MIMIC cloud?

MIMIC uses proprietary technology to encrypt all studies and is fully HIPAA compliant.

How long are the studies kept once received by MIMIC?

The studies are maintained in MIMIC indefinitely.

How do I grant access to a secondary physician?

Within the MIMIC portal, you can choose a physician using our nationwide database of physicians. If the physician is already a registered user of MIMIC, they will receive a notification via e-mail and/or text notifying them there is a study waiting. If the physician is not a registered user, you will need to call the secondary physician office and notify them your study is in MIMIC. The physician will then need to login under GUEST access or register as a physician to review your study.

How do I know when my physician has reviewed my study?

You will receive a notification via e-mail or text when the physician has reviewed your study. Alert notifications can be customized using your profile.

How do I become an authorized client of MIMIC?

All you have to do is contact info@onmimic.com to schedule a call and an authorized representative will work with you to provide the business associate agreement.

Is MIMIC HIPAA compliant?

MIMIC is fully HIPAA compliant. For additional information, please refer to the privacy policy and terms and conditions found on the website.

Do I need to install software to use MIMIC?

No. There is no software installation required to use MIMIC.

Do I need to replace or modify my PACS system to use MIMIC?

No. MIMIC is vendor neutral and PACS agnostic. You do not need to modify, upgrade, or replace your existing PACS system to use MIMIC.

Can I link quickly to my PACS so I can send cases individually?

Yes. Our MIMIC Image Provider Portal allows you to export the study directly into your PACS system.

What happens if there is a data breach with MIMIC. Who is responsible?

MIMIC assumes responsibility in the event there is a data breach within the MIMIC system as outlined in our Privacy Policy and Business Associate Agreements.

Can I import studies directly into my viewer and/or PACS?

Yes. MIMIC can work with your team on an integration that allows for a direct scanner to MIMIC cloud automated push that can streamline the process.

Is there a portal or dashboard I get to manage the process?

Yes. You will access our Image Provider Portal which allows you to define users, roles, groups within a hierarchy with customizable permissions and business intelligence functions that outline operational statistics.

How are the referring and/or primary care physicians notified once a study has been uploaded?

MIMIC captures referring physician information stored within the study and the Primary care physician information is specified by the patient when they register with MIMIC. If the physician has not registered with MIMIC, you will need to inform them they can review their patient’s study(s) at www.onmimic.com

Can I upload DICOM images to share them quickly with consultants or other physicians outside my system?

Yes. The images are uploaded via our HIPAA secure proprietary MDRIVE system. Once the images are securely uploaded, our MIMIC Imaging Provider Portal will allow you to grant access to another physician outside your system.

Can I use MIMIC even though my health care system does not?

Yes. MIMIC is a vendor neutral web-based portal and can be accessed by a patient or physician that might reside outside the primary care providers network.

Yes. MIMIC allows for real-time secure communication with a secondary physician to review a study.

What quality is the viewer included in the physician portal?

MIMIC uses a high-performance, multi-threaded image display. You can view multiple studies within one window.

How is the patient notified once I’ve reviewed their study catalogued to me?

Your patient is notified by text or e-mail.

Can I use MIMIC even though my health care system does not?

Yes. MIMIC is a vendor neutral web-based portal and can be accessed by a patient or physician that might reside outside the primary care providers network.
