Cheryl Newton – Product Specialist

Cheryl Newton retired from Miami University after 28 years in various positions. She served in Academic Affairs as Assistant to the Provost from 2001 until her retirement in 2014. During her time in Academic Affairs, Cheryl served on a variety of committees and coordinated special events. Notable events included The Provost’s Student Academic Achievement Award, New Faculty Orientation, and the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. Additionally, she was appointed to the University’s Unclassified Advisory Personnel Committee by the Office of the President and subsequently elected by peers to serve as Chairperson of that Committee. Cheryl was recognized by the University’s Steering Committee in 2005 for her extraordinary assistance to the committee on the HLC Accreditation self-study report and upon her retirement, the Miami University Board of Trustees passed a resolution honoring Cheryl with Administrator Emerita. Since retirement from Miami, Cheryl and her husband, Gale have gone RVing and traversed the country from coast to coast visiting many national parks, historical locations, and family.
